Sunday, October 27, 2013, the Toledo Fire & Rescue Foundation will hold its first annual pancake breakfast to kick-off the launch of the foundation. In honor of the first recipient family, it will be known as the Toledo Fire & Rescue Foundation, “For Pete’s Sake”, named in memory of Battalion Chief Peter Jaegly who recently lost his 2 year battle with cancer.
The goal of the foundation is to provide assistance for members of our department who would experience a catastrophic injury or illness. This pancake breakfast will be an annual event, though other events are being researched in an effort to raise funds for the foundation.
The outpouring of support from firefighters has been incredible, as well as local businesses offering their assistance through various donations. Thanks to Ed Schmidt Auto Group, Hanson Inc., The Blade, Burkett Restaurant Supply, Rick’s City Diner, Meredith Party Rentals, American Rent All, Sysco Corporation, Al Peake & Sons & Daughter Too, Ace Sanitation, Chariott Foods, Irelands Embroidery & Custom Printing, and Metzgers Printing.
The pancake breakfast will run from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at 545 North Huron Street, Toledo Fire & Rescue Headquarters, on Sunday October 27, 2013. Also on display will be Toledo fire apparatus, both front line and from the Toledo Firefighter’s Museum. Feel free to R.S.V.P. at our Facebook event page.
