In a ceremony held this morning in council chambers, Toledo Fire & Rescue Department added 51 fire recruits to its ranks. This fire class will begin with thirteen weeks of fire training followed by nine weeks of training to become Emergency Medical Technician’s (Basic).
Upon graduation these recruits will be certified as State of Ohio Firefighter II level of certification, and, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, through the State of Ohio and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
With the addition of this class of 51, Toledo Fire & Rescue will have 543 personnel providing fire, technical rescue, and emergency medical services to the citizens of Toledo.
