The Toledo Fire & Rescue Foundation will be holding its fourth annual pancake breakfast on September 9, 2016, from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. The proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the Toledo Fire & Rescue Foundation.
The T.F.R.D. Foundation was established to assist Toledo firefighters who may suffer a catastrophic illness or injury, and is funded and supported by firefighters and local businesses.
Cost of the pancake breakfast is $10.00.
While the idea of a foundation to aid Toledo firefighters was contemplated for some time, it was brought to the forefront of discussion with the untimely passing of Battalion Chief Peter J. Jaegly in October of 2013. It was determined that this poignant event would be the appropriate time to launch a foundation.
The overwhelming costs to any family in the Jaegly’s position can be devastating, so, in early October of 2013, the Toledo Fire & Rescue Foundation, “For Pete’s Sake”, was established. An account has been established at the Toledo Fire Fighters Federal Credit Union for the purpose of accepting donations to the foundation.
Donations can be made to the Toledo Fire & Rescue Foundation via the Toledo Fire Fighters Federal Credit Union, 2800 West Laskey Road, 43613.
